![]() ![]() We did come across a potential workaround that may help solve the problem for some. While the company says it’s working on fixing the bugs, no ETA has been shared for the time being. Dropped frames, audio sync and dropouts.įortunately, Plex has acknowledged the issue and assured its users that they are working on fixing it. However, it must be noted that the 4K HDR playback issues on Plex for Apple TV remain unresolved. The app recently received the v8.13 update fixing some of the old issues related to crashing while browsing sources and wrong thumbnails. Some even complained that when consuming content, the sound would play for about 10 seconds and then stop entirely. While watching a full movie someone is bound to notice it quite a few times. Depending on the action that’s on-screen when this dropped frame happens in might or might not be noticeable, but it’s there. When watching 4K HDR remuxes with 8.12, it seems there’s a single dropped frame happening about every minute or so. The issue that I am having though, is that every ten or so seconds, I’ll get a single frame juddering. I finally upgraded to an Apple TV that I’ve hard-wired into a Google Fiber connection that can play 4K content without any pausing or buffering. The Plex for Apple TV app received the v8.12 update a few weeks ago.Īlthough the patch was meant to fix some previous issues and add to the app’s feature set, it ended up introducing more problems, spoiling the user’s playback experience. Plex for Apple TV stuttering during 4K HDR playbackĪccording to reports ( 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8), multiple users are experiencing heavy stuttering while playing 4K HDR remuxes.Ī majority of viewers are facing significant drops in framerate and experiencing random sound loss and audio sync issues while playing 4K content on the app. However, like any other media streaming platform, Plex also suffers from occasional bugs and issues that hinder the experience of the end user. It also allows users to stream content from its catalog of 200 live channels. The service helps one organize media from personal collections and online services.īy making use of its server application, one can also stream content to a variety of devices. Plex is one of the most popular streaming services and a client–server media player platform. Original story (published on December 15, 2022) follows: The whole idea of the “open in Infuse” just gives the best of both worlds.New updates are being added at the bottom of this story……. If (for my needs) Infuse TV navigation improves or Plex, Emby or Jellyfin offer fully working spatial audio on the ATV, that’s where I will end up.īut just having tonemapped video thumbs on the fly in Infuse will probably mean I will always use infuse for movies at least. Trakt, which I have always found more reliable in Emby and Infuse than Plex. Small things and fringe cases maybe but things to matter to me personally.Īs mentioned my priorities are Spatial Audio which Infuse in any setup works with. You can see all episodes for the season that the on deck episode belongs to on the preplay screen but sadly not other seasons. Infuse forces you to actually browse to the show. Clicking on any item that’s on deck in Plex… (only just trying out Emby again after a while away so I’m not sure if its the same here)…gives a one click option to go back to the season or show level from ANYWHERE in the UI. If we have more than 10 active shows we are apparently doing it wrong.Īlso I watch a lot of documentaries and stuff that don’t necessarily need watching in order. Regarding the navigation, Infuse shows very few active shows on deck. I seldom watch my media while out and about but it does happen occasionally so having an Emby or Plex server running makes sense for such occasions. My storage is totally in gdrive and server is remote and Infuse (last time I checked and still seemingly an issue) is Infuse natively leads to API bans on occasion. ![]()
